Other
Records Once you have exhausted all possibilities with census, parish, civil registration, and probate records and you are still “stuck”, you may consider consulting other records. These other records are not nearly as easy to use, but they should not be overlooked. This may especially be necessary for searching lines prior to 1837 where civil registration records or census records are not available. Evaluate how much time or money you are willing to spend searching for an ancestor before you begin. I would never encourage someone to give up, but your time may be better spent researching another line where the basic records listed previously have not been exhausted.
